What are the characteristics of a serial killer?
Q. I'm trying to write a paper on serial killers and was wondering if anybody could give me a little more insight into the mind of a serial killer, or if anyone could recommend a book.

What was the ancestor of the killer whale just over 2 million years ago?
Q. I'm aware that the Pakicetus was the walking land ancestor of dolphins, but I'm more interested in the killer whale ancestor that existed in the sea around the time the Megalodon used to live (2 million - 60 million years ago). What would the killer whale have looked like? Would it have been a predator or prey for the Megalodon? Would the killer whale have still preyed on larger whales at that time as well as now? Could the killer whale have drive Megalodon to extinction?

A. Fossils as old as 5 million years have been identified as being the same genus as the orca, in the Pliocene. Megalodon is larger than a whale shark. The orca would be dwarfed by Megalodon. The orca will probably have little chance against Megalodon, which preyed on whales. Megalodon may have become extinct because of the extinction of many of its prey species during the Pliocene. Some of the surviving whale species began migrating to polar areas to feed during the summer, depriving Megalodon of prey because Megalodon preferred warm waters.

How do you tell the difference in honey bees and killer bees?
Q. Spotted hundreds of bees going in hole in tree limb very high above my garage, Very busy hive behavior. They also drink out of my dogs water pale but do not offer to sting me or him. Can this rule out that they are killer bees or does behavior change later?

A. it takes an expert to tell the difference. it will be a real problem, and costly, to remove the hive, unless you're willing to have them exterminated.
