Im not a US citizen yet but have a permanent residentcard my philippine passport is about to expired in aug 09?
Q. My question is what could happen if my philippine passport expired while processing my citizenship in US?
Asked by Lil Asawa - Mon Jun 1 23:27:57 2009 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments
A. Don't worry about renewing the passport. You are a citizen of the Philippines until you obtain American citizenship. Even then, you can probably maintain what is called "dual citizenship". But check with the State Department on that issue. You can renew your passport in the US, at the Philippine Embassy or Consulate nearest you. It won't affect your premanent resident status in the US, but might present problems if you try to leave the US before you get your US citizenship or new passport. You cannot enter other countries with an expired passport. You must have a current passport from SOME country. The US permanent resident card is probably not sufficient alone. .

Requirements for entry to Singapore for Philippine Passport holder?
Q. I am a Philippine Passport holder and i want to go to Singapore for a week. Can somebody tell me what are the requirements for entry or do I need to get a visa first hand before my travel. Thanks a lot.
Asked by kim - Fri Jan 15 07:26:40 2010 - - 3 Answers - 1 Comments
A. No visa required for Philippine passport holders. But be sure and prepared to have ready upon immigration control your return ticket as well as your hotel reservation. There are too many visitors, especially younger females, from neighbouring countries entering Singapore with the intention of some "freelancer" jobs. This influx is recently stopped with more intense controls. Have a good trip and enjoy the garden city.

I am a Philippine passport holder, but have a US Green Card, how easy is it to get an Australian visa?
Q. I have been a US greencard holder since 1986, and I have a full-time job here in the US. I know it's still a bit harder for Philippine passport holders to get a visa, but will it be easier coz I have a greencard?
Asked by BronzieBrown - Sat Sep 13 15:46:13 2008 - - 5 Answers - 0 Comments
A. I wouldn't say the green card means nothing to other countries in issuing tourist visas, far from it. However, if they have any particular reason to believe you intend to stay, you can be sure you'll be denied a visa whether you have a green card, or not. Actually, lots of Filipinos get visas to go to Australia, to me it seems easier for a Filipino to get a first time visa there than to the US. I've seen plenty of Filipinos who got visas to Australia who were denied for US visas, either before or after they got the Australian visa.

New US Citizen with US passport, has Philippine passport expiring on May 2009 ?
Q. My question is: Do I still have to renew my Philippine passport that is expiring this year? I have heard of people having dual passports. What are the pros and cons of having 2 passports? What are the disadvantage if I don't renew my philippine passport? Please help!
Asked by Jhing - Tue Feb 3 05:12:37 2009 - - 3 Answers - 0 Comments
A. The Philippines and the United States of America both allow "dual citizenship" and many filipinos who are United States citizens still maintain their Philippine passport. Off hand it would seem that travel would be easier in the Philippines and southeast Asia with a Philippine passport than an American. Also with the threats of terrorism I personally would feel safer traveling to areas like Mindanao on a Philippine passport especially if I was traveling to the western part of the island. the same argument could be made for Indonesia or any other predominately Muslim country. What ever you decide congratulations on your United States citizenship.

Do you think there would be a problem if I enter China with my 2 month old son with a Philippine passport and?
Q. then later get a Chinese citizenship for him? My husband is Chinese and I gave birth to our son in Manila. We now want to take him back but the requirements for a Chinese passport will take more time so we are thinking the Philippine passport will be simpler. However, I want to know if there would be any problems getting a visa for the baby to enter China and also in China when we want him to be a Chinese citizen like his father.

A. the best way is to check with bureau of entry and exit. But as I know you can take an L type of visa for your baby which means tourist (visiting relatives) since his father is chinese. that is applicable for 1 year stay in china and renewable every year. after 5 years of continuous renewal they will give you residence visa. Need to bring documents such as birth certificate marriage contract, passport, household register and Original Registration Form of Temporary Residence which you can take from nearest Police station to your home. hope can help : )

A. Yes you will need a transit visa since you do not fall under the exception of the TWOV as outlined on the webpage of the Canadian Embassy. Furthermore you will have problems to enter Bermuda without holding a transit visa of Canada. Bermuda (BM) Passport required. - Passport and/or passport replacing documents must be valid on arrival. Visa required, except for Returning (alien) residents of Bermuda holding proof of residency or a Re-entry Permit. Additional Information: - Admission is denied to passengers arriving with return tickets via Canada or U.S.A. without holding visas for Canada or U.S.A., if required (also applicable if only transiting the relevant country).

A. For the Czech Republic, you'll need a Czech visa, since that country is not yet a part of the Schengen zone, which has a unified visa- the Schengen Visa. For Austria, you'll need a Schengen visa issued by the Austrian embassy or diplomatic mission in South Korea (Seoul). If an Austrian embassy/ diplomatic mission doesnt exist in S. Korea, you can obtain a Schengen visa from a German or any other Schengen member state's embassy, which has been authorized to issue a visa on behalf of Austria. Below are some details, which might help: National philippines (PH) Residence KOREA (REPUBLIC) (KR) Destination czech republic (CZ) czech republic (CZ) Passport (must be valid for at least 90 days beyond expiry date of the visa) required. … [cont.]
